This is the last known photograph of the artist, taken while fondling a figure in MoMA's sculpture garden in the late summer of 1973. The following December, he had his last solo show in NYC titled "A Garden of Earthly Pleasure". Vincent Smarkusz passed away at home in Boston, almost one year later on October 4, 1974, at the age of 55. May he rest in peace.
