"October" is obviously a representation of Halloween and the first full month of Autumn. Smarkusz begins transitioning from the fully extrovertive social qualities of the warm weather sections of his "Months of the Year" series, back to the mystical introvertive qualities of his winter phase. There are nuances to its elements that bears mentioning not only in reference to the general holiday mischief depicted, but also as examples of the artist's iconographic style. The scales silhouetted against the full moon represents the zodiac sign of Libra.
